Step 8 - Shading the Boots

Shade the boots using the leather shading style from step 6. This time it’s on a smaller scale so I suggest using the 1px brush all the time, and not starting off with a 2px brush. And remember Leather is shiny (but don’t make it too shiny otherwise it looks like PVC and if you want the PVC look that’s fine but leather is not that shiny)

Step 9 - Bootlaces

I’m going to use a red to add a couple of laces on the boots so like with the zip make a new layer and then using a 1px thick brush with opacity 100% and flow around 80%. Draw a criss cross pattern down the front of the boot. Go back to the boot layer and select the outside of the boot before returning to the laces layer and pressing delete.

Lower the opacity till you’re happy.

I zoomed out until I was at 100% but decided I didn’t like the laces red. So using the hue/saturation tool I tried out some new colours and settled on the greeny colour that I used to stripe the skirt with.

Now the whole outfit starts to look better as a whole.
